Magnus Hårdenson Berntsen Ph.D.

Magnus Hårdensson Berntsen has a doctorate in physics from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, where he works as a researcher. His research work is related to experimental solid state physics with special focus on the study of different material’s basic electronic and magnetic properties. Magnus has international research experience from his work at at Deutsches Elektron-Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg (Germany) where he was involved in the development of experimental instruments and methods, as well as analytical methods related to coherent X-ray diffraction and holography. He has also extensive experience from experiment at synchrotron and free electron laser laboratories worldwide. Magnus has received a number of educational and research scholarships and collaborates with physics institutions in Norway and abroad. In his spare time, Magnus is a diligent hobby musician with trumpet/cornet as his main instruments.

Henrik Hårdenson Berntsen Ph.D.

Henrik Hårdensson Berntsen holds a Ph.D. in biology (physiology) from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where he researched the effects of developmental factors in physiological conditioning in passerine birds, with the zebra finch (Taeniopygia guttata) as a model organism. He has extensive experience in teaching and science communication at NTNU, as well as experience from international collaborative research. Henrik has held various positions in several academic groups, and been a member of the research committee at NTNU.

He currently works as a researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) in Trondheim.

In his spare time, Henrik is an avid trumpeter and has held volunteer positions as bandleader, director and conductor of several wind orchestras.

Yngve Berntsen M.Sc.

Yngve Berntsen is a skilled social worker with additional education in public management, administration and finance. He has worked for 30 years in the field of health and social services at both state and municipal levels. One of his areas of expertise has been the development of prevention programs and projects in the field of alcohol and drug prevention. Since 2002 he has hold the position of Chief Executive Officer in the Church of Norway in a Norwegian municipality, and was project manager for the restoration of 3 protected churches, of which the oldest dates back to medieval times. In a 20 year period from the beginning of the 1970s he worked with marketing and sales of medical-technical equipment for his father's company. Yngve Berntsen has held several honorary positions in children and youth work under the auspices of the YMCA. In his spare time, Yngve sings 1st tenor in a male choir.

In recent years he has had administrative tasks for a company that is engaged in metal recycling in Norway and Sweden, as well as other consulting assignments.

Kristian Hårdenson Berntsen B.Sc.

Kristian Hårdenson Berntsen holds a Bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Agder (Kristiansand), as well as a creative education from Idéfagskolen in Tønsberg. His Bachelor thesis comprised vertical migration of water fleas in response to predator stress, with the water flea Daphnia pulex as a model organism. Kristian is an avid nature photographer, mainly working with botanical macro photography, and runs the website biologiportalen.no which is an information portal for those who want to learn more about Norway's flora and fauna. He is involved in the Norwegian Taxonomy Initiative’s mapping project of both birds and plants in Norway through being rapporteur for Artsobservasjoner.no. Kristian has held various volunteer positions within the wind orchestra movement, and has been bandleader in Sandefjord Musikkorps where he plays trombone.
